Stainless steel casting is a manufacturing process in which molten stainless steel is poured into a mold to form the required shape. It is widely used for producing valves, pump parts, impellers, fittings, and industrial components.
The two common methods are investment casting and sand casting. Investment casting, also known as lost wax casting, is suitable for small and medium-sized parts with complex shapes and higher precision requirements. It provides a smoother surface and better dimensional accuracy.
Sand casting uses sand molds and is generally suitable for larger components and projects where cost efficiency is important. Compared with investment casting, the surface finish and dimensional accuracy are relatively lower, and additional machining may be required.
Stainless steel casting offers excellent corrosion resistance, strength, wear resistance, and durability, making it suitable for industries such as pumps and valves, chemical equipment, food processing, marine equipment, and general industrial machinery.
For complex and precision parts, investment casting is a good choice; for larger and simpler components, sand casting can be a more economical solution.
